Website Design and Maintenance
Guacamole Press will help you plan out a strategy for your new website, help you with remodeling your existing website, or simply perform maintenance on your existing website. We specialize in database-driven websites which allow you to maintain your site yourself using an intuitive content management interface.

Our standard is programming in HTML and PHP (languages) and MySQL (database). From simple brochure-type websites to complex shopping cart and ecommerce websites, we can help!

How Much Does a Website Cost?
The cost of a website varies and depends on what you need. A simple static website usually starts somewhere about $500 - $1,000, whereas a dynamic website typically starts at $1,500. Since a website is a customized product for you, the cost will vary depend on what your needs are.

What Are the Steps Involved in Getting a Website?
There are three things you need in order to get your business on the web.

First, you need a "domain name." A domain name is something like yourbusiness.com. A domain name is registered at and managed by a third-party company called a "registrar." There are dozens of registrars out there today, but GoDaddy.com seems to have the best prices at the moment.

Once you have registered a domain name, you need a web hosting company. A web host makes your website available over the Internet 24/7. Here's where you upload all of your web pages and images to. Then, when someone goes to www.yourbusiness.com, they see your website.

The last thing you need is a website. There are basically two types of websites: static and dynamic. A static website is nothing more than an online brochure. If the information you want to put on your site doesn't change that often, then a static site may be just what you need.

On the other hand, if you have information that changes frequently, you need to maintain the website yourself, or you need ecommerce (shopping) capabilities, you'll probably need a dynamic website. A dynamic site uses a database and some kind of user interface to manage the public website.

Lucky for you... we do it all!

"I had contacted quite a few companies in my search for website services with most responses being "see our FAQ" or simply emailing back instructions on where to send the check! I contacted Guacamole Press and it was certainly a pleasant surprise to actually receive a call, and then to have the person, Markus, actually listen to my needs and answer questions. That attention made it a very easy decision, and I wasn't disappointed. When it came time for a redesign of the website I contacted Markus leaving the entire concept and layout in his hands. I must say a wise choice on my part, and an exceptional job by Markus on my website. Every once in awhile I make really good decisions, Markus and Guacamole Press was certainly one of the better ones!"
